There’s also this story from bOING bOING which discusses a more commercial application for nanotech.

Making Time Panoramas

From kottke, a neat technique using multiple images taken quickly to compose a single “time panorama.” I must try this some time to catch the kids in action…

Blinkx 2.0

2:50 pm

I had installed, tried, and uninstalled Blinkx version 1.0 (see here). So, when 2.0 came out, I was skeptical (especially since I had GDS working). But, after reading the list of new functionality, I’m giving it a try. We’ll see if the issue of indexing vs. performance is still an issue, but it sure looks cool.

However, it seems NOT to be legit — see this page for details (a LOT more details).

Firefox 1.0

November 10, 2004 1:39 pm

I downloaded. I tried. I’m thinking about making the switch. I’ll most likely install FF on Emily’s computer when I rebuild it. I need to make sure that the little tweaks I have in IE (like my Pluck, like my MT-It!, like Password Manager XP) work in Firefox. But so far so good…

SAT to IQ Mapping?

Does it work? Does it make sense? Does it matter? Regardless, it’s fun to look at…

Google Hacks

November 3, 2004 11:55 am

I’m playing around with two Google hacks, one for support for additional filetypes to Google Desktop Search (Trivex.net - Google Desktop Search Plus), and one for using Gmail as an on-line file system (Gmail Drive shell extension).

I’m having some firewall problems with GmailFS, and some indexing problems with GDS+. Hmmm….
