Telephone Tragedy

March 12, 2004 11:38 am

So, I lost my mobile the other day. Turns out it dropped out my (supposedly zipped shut) jacket pocket while doing some snowboarding at Alpental. Surprisingly enough, the phone was found (on the slopes) the next day!

According to Central Guest Services, the phone was pretty mangled, cracked screen, wouldn’t turn on, etc. They were, however, kind enough to pull out the SIM card and mail it back to me (thanks Meghan!) At least this way I’ll get my phone numbers back…

So, now a new phone is necessary. My contract with TMO was up a month or so ago, so I looked at all my options. Port to another carrier, keep TMO, stay on a solo plan or go onto a family plan with Anne, choices choices. In the end, I chose to stay with TMO (path of least hassle), but wanted to get in on one of the fantastic deals that Amazon.com was running. I really had wanted to stay with my old Sony-Ericsson T300 for a while until there was a really cool phone I could get, but now it looks like I will go to a T610 for at least a year. Not bad, but not great. I’ll let you know if the scary reports of sub-par reception and firmware freeze-ups pan out…

Man Grooming

Not sure that I can make this type of investment (time, products, effort, etc.) but hey, it is my face after all, and I sure want to keep it looking good (yes, “good” is a relative term)…
